Aspen

8/20/2008

Hi Claudine,

Sorry it has been so long. A lot has been happening. Hope you are well and happy in your new home.

I'm sorry to have to tell you that we lost Aspen a few weeks ago. She was doing fine. One day she just was not herself, panting, restless and not walking well. We took her into the vet. They looked her over, took some x-rays, blood and thought she might need a dose of doxy. We brought her home and she just laid on the floor and didn't move. Later that day we decided to take her back to the vet. At this point when I tried to get her up she wouldn't move so with help we put a sheet under her and lifted her into the car. By the time we got to the vet she was septic. The vet thinks possibly a tumor burst in her. It was time to let go. We hugged her and let her go to sleep in our arms and she was gone.

We miss her so much. She was a wonderful girl. So sweet. Lourdes's family was here when she died. They were all crying because they liked her so much. The kids hugged her all the time and she enjoyed their attention. She had a good life with us and we got much more than we gave.

Thanks for bringing her into our lives. We will see her and all our other "kids" at rainbow bridge.

Hope we see you soon. Hi to Marie. Take care,

Jeanne and Lourdes
