Hey, Claudine. I wanted to let you guys know that we had to put Brooks down yesterday. I'm not sure if Matt filled you in , but the old man has not been doing well for a couple months now. What we hoped was an infection turned out to be a tumor in his throat, and things got bad pretty quickly. Towards the end, it got so bad he couldn't hardly eat. Jenny was feeding homemade food by hand. His nasal passage was completely closed off, and he couldn't sleep at all. It went quick and painless, I held him and he passed with his head in my hands.

I really wanted to thank you for introducing him to us, and also for all the help you gave when we first brought him home (giving us meds and all). I'd like to think of it like this; the first 2/3 of his life was pretty rough, and we were able to make the last 1/3 of his life pretty great. We all loved him, and he loved us. He had other dog friends in my mom's dogs, and got to be part of a family. Thanks again, Claudine. What you do is pretty special.
