OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Atlantic County Canines is a local 501(3)(c) non-profit independent rescue that was founded in 2006 by a small group of dedicated people with a passion to save the homeless animals of Atlantic County and surrounding New Jersey area Shelters. We are an all volunteer organization with one sole purpose: To rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home shelter dogs that were once in danger of being euthanized due to the overcrowded Shelters in New Jersey. We are a network of experienced rescue people who's goal is to give these once abandoned animals a second chance and adopt them to families that will love and care for them for the rest of their lives. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Atlantic County Canines does not receive any government funding. Our support comes directly from you and it goes directly to the dogs for their medical care. Our gratitude to the supporters who share our philosophy and support our efforts and goals is heartfelt. Together we are a powerful symbol of kindness, love and mercy. Please help us to continue our goals. You make our work possible and we thank you every day.

"Where there is no love, food or shelter, we will give it.
Where there is pain and suffering, we will help heal it.
Where there is need, we will fill it."

Atlantic County Canines Foster Pets In Need Of Extensive Medical Care

TJ (Special Needs)

We are accepting donations towards the Foster Pets listed above. Many pets are euthanized in shelters every day because they are considered "unadoptable" due to the expensive medical costs they will incur. Our Rescue plays an important part in helping these animals have a second chance at life. We get them the extra medical care they need and re-home them with loving families that will continue to give them the love and attention they so deserve. Atlantic County Canines survives solely from donations, and without them, we cannot continue to save these pets. Your donations are very much appreciated.

ADOPTION FEES

Our pet adoption fees are based on the medical cost of the dog you would like to adopt. It can range anywhere from $75 to $400 depending on the extent of care they need. All dogs are brought up to date on their shots, including Rabies, they are spayed/neutered, microchipped and free of parasites. They are also tested for Heartworm and Lymes disease. Because of the poor treatment given to some of these animals by their previous owners, many need dentals and there are some that test positive for Heartworm and/or Lymes. These treatments are very expensive and the Rescue can only pay their hospital costs from adoption fees. We are a non-profit organization that relies strictly on donations.

VOLUNTEERING WITH ATLANTIC COUNTY CANINES

Volunteers and Foster Homes are needed to help save these abandoned and/or abused animals. Atlantic County Canines is a small group who would like to expand our Rescue, but we can't do it without the help of volunteers. By providing a temporary safe home for these animals, it gives them time to love and trust people again and receive the proper medical care that they need. Fostering is such a rewarding way of helping one of these homeless animals. By opening up your home and heart, we can save more lives. Atlantic County Canines will pay for all medical needs as authorized by the Rescue.

If you can not foster, but would like to help in other ways, we would be happy to have you join us. We need people to transport our animals to and from our vet and also to walk some of our dogs. We plan on continuing to have fundraisers and educate the public of the importance to spay/neuter their animals and to make them aware of the thousands of pets that don't make it out of the Shelter because of overcrowding. We are looking for someone with Grant Writing skills, knowledge of creating Newsletters, people with sewing experience and other areas.

If you would like to donate part of your time to help our Rescue, please fill out the Volunteer/Foster Application for review.
